StormClan, PineClan, PetalClan, and BlazeClan have, up until this season of greenleaf, been living relatively peacefully. But this particular greenleaf is hot and dry, with little rain to nourish the plants and animals. Will the Clans have to resort to stealing to feed themselves - or worse? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, it's that time of year again in Twolegplace - time for kits six moons and older to see The Cutter. Some will go contentedly, but others might go to drastic measures to avoid such a fate. Will the loners and rogues of the alleys take kindly to strangers? Perhaps, perhaps not.
Let the action begin!

-fail double post Dx-
Hillstar rose from her den, taking in a deep breath of fresh air, letting the cool of the forest morning expand her lungs. She shook her dark brown fur out on the exhale and padded slowly outside, looking fondly at her Clan just getting ready for the day. However, she knew in her heart that hers was the only Clan who could afford this one lazy, slow, greenleaf morning, and climbed up on top of the Tallstump. She opened her rounded muzzle and yowled, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Tallstump for a Clan meeting." She smirked and added playfully, "I know it's morning, but we have a lot to discuss right now."
Mistytail groaned from where she was in the warriors' den. "Augh, already, Hillstar?" she grumbled, rolling over onto her belly and shaking moss out of her white pelt. "And here I was thinking I was gonna get a good night's sleep."

Hawkmask padded out of the warrior's den close behind Mistytail. The fur on the right side of her body was still pressed down from the way she'd slept on it that night and her exhaustion could be seen in her eyes. She'd had another restless night, another dream of Quickpaw.
She yawned as she walked, then shook out her fur before settling herself by the Tallstump.
"What's this about?" she questioned.

Mistytail yawned. "No idea, but I hope it's important."
Hillstar sweeped her gaze around the clearing. "Has anyone seen Riverspeed?" she questioned, shifting her round form around on the stump.

"Not for a while," Hawkmask said, scanning the group of now-assembled warriors in search of the deputy in question. She sniffed the air, hoping to catch his scent.
"Sorry." A strong voice drifted into the air at the same moment Riverspeed's distinct scent caught in Hawkmask's nose.
"Found 'im," Hawkmask said as the deputy trotted towards the Tallstump. He glanced at her briefly before addressing the leader.
"Didn't hear you," he said as a means of apology. "I'm here now. Let's begin."

Hillstar dipped her head to her deputy before speaking. "Cats of StormClan, you know as well as I do that this greenleaf is hot and dry, but StarClan has blessed us by letting our prey run well and let the rain collect in small pools throughout our territory. However, it would be foolish to think that the other Clans all have the same bounty that we do."
"So what do you propose we do?" Mistytail called out.
"We'll have extra patrols," Hillstar stated. "And at the next Gathering, I shall tell the Clans that any cat looking to come to our territory for water is welcome. However, these cats shall be escorted to pools by StormClan cats, so these cats to not steal prey from us." She wrapped her tail around her paws. "Does anyone have any objections to this?"

"None here," Hawkmask said. "I think it sounds like a good plan."
Riverspeed shook his head and glanced up at Hillstar.
"Not exactly an objection," he stated. "But have you thought this through? How can we be sure the other Clans won't take advantage of this hospitality? These are turning into desperate times. Desperate measures can't be too far away. Letting these cats onto our territory could put StormClan in danger."

"I know that, Riverspeed," Hillstar responded, "but it would be wrong to deny the cats the opportunity before they prove that they cannot be trusted. Do you think StarClan would want us to sit around and watch as the other Clans dehydrate? I can't let myself succumb to the temptation of letting them hunt here, but we have much water in our territory - that, I feel StarClan would want us to share. To at least give an effort to help." She shrugged nonchalantly after saying that, almost wondering if she sounded like a crazy old elder.

Riverspeed glanced around at the other cats, looking for someone who might agree with him, back him up, but all seemed to be nodding in agreement with their leader. Riverspeed eyed Hillstar cautiously.
"All right," he meowed after a moment. "But I want to be here every time an outsider comes onto our territory. I want to able to watch them."

"Absolutely," Hillstar nodded. "As I said, patrols will be guided by StormClan cats - if you would like to make that your personal duty, you can do that." She meant it as an offer, not an order.
"But keep in mind," she continued, looking at all the cats seriously now, "this does not come in effect until after the next Gathering. Until then, if you see any strange cats on our territory, chase them out."

Riverspeed nodded, liking Hillstar most recent proposal as apposed to the one that allowed cats from all Clans to invade his land.
"Hear, hear," he muttered quietly.
In the crowed, Hawkmask nodded in agreement to her leaders words, even though she'd only heard half of what was spoken after Riverspeed first talked. Her mind was wandering back to the dream she'd had and all she really wanted was to be alone.

"That will be all," Hillstar concluded. "Please go back to your duties."
Mistytail yawned and stretched as the cats broke up into their own groups. "Was that all we had to listen to?" She trotted over to Hawkmask. "Hey, you okay?" she asked, wrapping her tail around her friend's back. "You seem kinda off."

"What?" Hawkmask asked, suddenly feeling her friend's presence. "Oh. No, I'm fine. Just um..."
She trailed off, glancing around the camp. Her focus was drawn to the apprentices' den. Two of the warriors were pulling tired young cats out of the den, ready to start their training. She shook her head, warding off the memories of when she did the same exact thing.
"Just thinking," she said. "I'm fine."

Mistytail twitched her whiskers in such a way to say she knew that it wasn't fine, but she didn't say anything. "Come on, let's go hunting," the albino cat offered. "It'll be fun! An early morning hunt always wakes me up and gets my blood moving."

Hawkmask perked up instantly, jumping to her feet.
"Yes, let's," she agreed.
