"Oh, hi!" Darla mewed. "Are you new to the neighborhood?"
Trevor blinked a few times and puffed out his chest fur. "Hey there," he purred, trying to make himself look bigger and stronger than he really was. Chicks dug big and strong toms, right?

Oh, they welcoming her right away! That was a surprise for her.
Laynie shook her head quickly, ignoring Trevor's awkward position right away (which to tell the truth, she decided to question what she didn't understand since it flew right over her head what he was trying to do) and clawed at the fence, trying to find a way to get up there with the others.
"No, I'm not new at all! I've been here since... a long time!" She lifted up her hind leg as she reached her paw upwards and slowly began to climb upwards, but then landed back onto her feet from the failed attempt. She laughed nervously.
"But...I guess not long enough to know how to climb fences..."

"What's going on?" Hunter asked suddenly, alerted by the new voice on the other side of the fence. He put his forepaws up on the wood and stretched his body out as long as he could. "Who else is there?"

"Good question," Darla called down to Hunter, then looked back over the other side of the fence. "Find weak spots in the fence and bite those. Basically just try to push yourself up. If you can find a bush or something to balance on or get closer to the top, use that!"
Trevor yowled loudly, "Yeah, watch, I'll show you!" He clambered down the fence next to the new kittypet, then turned around and climbed up slowly. "Like this, lil' lady!"

Hunter plopped down on his hindquarters, shaking his head. "Always such a showoff," he commented with a laugh.

Trevor batted his green eyes down at Hunter. "You know you love it~" he purred, wiping the side of his face with a paw.
Darla shook her head. "You are so weird..." she said aloud to him.

Oblivious as she was to the scene taking place beside her, Laynie studied the other kittypet's movements and copied them, finding the strength to pull herself up as she neared the top.
"Hey, it's working!" she cried triumphantly, "I'm climbing!" She carefully sat herself on top of the fence, smiling proudly to the one she followed up the fence.
"Thanks-um...what's your names?" She then faced the other cats. "'Mine's Laynie!"

Trevor flexed his shoulder muscles and stuck his chest out. "My name's Trevor," he meowed proudly. He winked. "Glad I could help you up the fence."
Darla gave Laynie a friendly poke with her paw. "And I'm Darla!" she mewed. "My Twolegs call me Patches, but please, call me Darla."

"And I'm Hunter!" Hunter called from the ground, finally able to see the new arrival. "I'm Darla's brother."

Laynie kept the names in mind and crawled closer to Darla, Hunter and Trevor (who she once again ignored) and minded her steps.
"What are you guys doing here anyways?" she asked gesturing her head towards the ground, "Aren't ya afraid yer gonna fall off?"

"Nope!" Darla chirped. "It's fun up here! And high places are neat!"
"I've done this so many times it's nothing new to me," Trevor explained.

"Really?" she gasped.
Laynie took a few more steps and panicked with she felt her paw brush and slip, but somehow managed to keep herself from falling. She sighed in relief.
"And your two-legged owners are okay with you doing stuff like this?" she asked, "I don't know if mine would. Then again, they don't even know I can get away from their nest..."

Darla nodded. "Yeah, they don't mind as long as we're back by nightfall. I go out all the time!"
Trevor huffed and stroked the side of his face with a paw. " 'Snot a big deal, my housefolk are kinda dumb anyway."

"Our Twolegs get too busy to notice if we're gone, really," Hunter said, motioning towards the Twoleg nest with a tilt of his head. "What brings you around here anyway?"
Hunter was beginning to lose balance, swaying between his two stand legs and adjusting his forepaws on the wood so he didn't fall. For a moment he considered climbing up the fence to get a better look at Laynie and have a better conversation with the three cats on the fence. But that was only for a moment.

Trevor's green eyes glinted. "So how long have you been here for? What are your housefolk like?"
