StormClan, PineClan, PetalClan, and BlazeClan have, up until this season of greenleaf, been living relatively peacefully. But this particular greenleaf is hot and dry, with little rain to nourish the plants and animals. Will the Clans have to resort to stealing to feed themselves - or worse? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, it's that time of year again in Twolegplace - time for kits six moons and older to see The Cutter. Some will go contentedly, but others might go to drastic measures to avoid such a fate. Will the loners and rogues of the alleys take kindly to strangers? Perhaps, perhaps not.
Let the action begin!

Ratta-ratta-ratta-ratta--
Trevor lazily opened his eyes. His housefolk were preparing breakfast for him. He yawned and then muttered to himself, "Right on schedule." He licked his black-and-white chest quickly before leaping down from his fuzzy tree and padded into the kitchen, where his bowl was. He tucked down in front of it as the male adult Twoleg stepped backwards and began to eat, with no hint of thanks but a quick twitch of his tail. It wasn't the best food in the world, but, it would do. At least it would hold him over until he went to the fence. Maybe his friend Darla would have some good stories for him.

The first few rays of sunlight lighted on Hunter's fur, instantly warming him. He closed his eyes tighter, reluctant to wake up, but when the first piercing scream emitted from the upstairs bedroom his eyes shot open.
"Oh, come on," Hunter groaned. He slowly stood up, shaking out his legs and blinking the sleep out of his eyes. He heard the light footsteps of a woman moving from one to another upstairs, followed by much heavier footsteps clunking down the stairs. Hunter walked to the base of the staircase, watching the male Twoleg as he made his way down. He nodded down at the cat and then continued into the kitchen, Hunter trailing behind him. Hunter sat on his hauches, cleaning his forepaws as he watched the Twoleg prepare breakfast for himself. Nothing interesting, Hunter realized, so he padded out of the room, starting a search for the house's second kittypet.
"Darla?" he called.

Darla yawned, stretching on the windowsill. "Hu-what?" She blinked. "Oh, Hunter! In here, the living room!" she yawned.
Trevor licked his lips and took a leisurely stroll out the cat door to the backyard. He yawned loudly once again and climbed up on top of the fence, liking the feel of the freshly cut grass beneath his paws, and even more the prickly, hard wood of the fence caught in his claws. He might as well sun himself while waiting for his next door neighbors, Darla and Hunter, to come outside.

Hunter trotted into the room, hopping up onto the couch cushions and then into its back in two swift leaps. He nudged the other cat with knows, a smile lighting his eyes.
"Wanna go outside?" he asked. As he spoke another pair of footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs, the small whimpers of the Twoleg's daughter overlapping with the sound. "I'm not really in the mood to deal with more crying."

Darla yawned again. "Sure, I'd love to. Just gotta stretch..." She stood on all fours, then extended her spine as far as it could go until she heard it crack. "Ah! That's better," she purred, getting up and giving herself a quick shake. "All right, let's go!" Darla eagerly bounded down the couch and ran out the door in about five seconds.
-She's a ninja like that.-

Hunter shook his head, marveling at Darla's sudden energy. He leaped down from the couch and trotted across the carpeting. He slowed his pace in the kitchen, glancing briefly at the small family of Twolegs seated around the table, then bounced out the cat-door.
"Wait up!" he called when he saw Darla's tail swishing ahead of him.

Trevor lit up when he saw his two friends coming outside. "Darla! Hunter! Hi! How are you?" he meowed all at once.
Darla climbed up the fence with ease, sitting beside Trevor in a flash. "Hey, what's up?" she meowed playfully, then turned her head to her brother. "Come on, slowpoke, you're holding up the party!"

"Oh, zip it!" Hunter called back, bounding the rest of the way towards them. He stopped just short of the fence, squinting his eyes as he looked up at the two other cats. "Hi, Trevor!" he mewed.

Trevor blinked and nearly swooned off the fence. "O-oh, Hunter, hi!" he mewed excitedly, suddenly licking his chest fur as if it desperately needed to be spotless at this moment. "H-how is everything with your housefolk?"

Hunter blinked.
"Um...fine," he meowed. "And...yours?"
He really shouldn't have been so thrown off by his friend's behavior. Trevor had always been odd. But since when was he so conscience about how his fur looked? When had he ever been so nervous he stuttered and resorted to small talk about the Twolegs? And, more importantly, when had he started looking at Hunter so strangely?

"G-great, thanks!" Trevor replied with a nervous jerk of his head. He gestured to the spot on the fence on the other side of him. "Come on up, the world looks better when you're tall!" he meowed, suddenly reverting back to his old self. "And wait til you hear this story that I heard from the old cat three houses down, you'll never believe it!"

"Uh, heh." Hunter took sudden interest in the grass, staring down at it and shifting from paw to paw. "Um, I can hear fine from down here, thanks."

"Awww, you sure?" Trevor asked, before Darla poked him in the chest with her paw.
"Don't mind him, he's being a party pooper." She stuck her tongue out at her brother briefly before turning back to the black-and-white kittypet. "So come on, tell us, what'd she tell you?"

The moment Laynie was put down after a lovely moment of cuddling and petting, her two-legged co-owner, a female, had walked out of the door and locked it to do whatever it was her two-legged owners did in the morning.
They would first drink water a color similar to mud that she had seen in the backyard after it rained, get their bags ready and then take turns rubbing their hands against her nice, thick fur. And then they would leave her alone in their nest until sometime around moonrise to do the unknown. Thankfully they had supplied her with enough food and water to last her until they got home.
While it did get lonely after a while, Laynie enjoyed being by herself-free to play with the toys her two-legged owners had given her and go outside. She crawled through the the doggy door and into the backyard. She looked over where the fence was and sprinted for the hole in it, leading her to the forest. She had explored some of it, but not in its entirety.
Last time she explored, she was so far into the forest that when it came time to head home, she had nearly missed the arrival of her owners. By now she knew it was best for them not to realize that she had been escaping just about everyday from the house or else they might take drastic measures-like taking away the doggy door! What a horror to think about!
So thinking this time she needed a break from taking trips in the forest, she decided to head to the West aside from East. Not more than far along down a couple of blocks or so, she noticed a few other cats-Kittypets, she assumed unless they were stray.
"Hiya!"
It was obvious that she had been intruding on a conversation, but that seemed to quickly go past her mind.
"Whatcha talkin' about?"
